The Mega Charizard X ex SAR is card 110/080 from the Japanese set Inferno X (M2), released 26 September 2025 and illustrated by danciao. As of October 2026 a raw copy is $706.04 on TCGplayer (26 October 2026) and about $537 by eBay sold median, while a PSA 10 sells for $839 to $860. The English print is Phantasmal Flames 125/094, $597 raw and $1,500 in PSA 10. A known fake is a sticker over a common card; the flames stay static when tilted.
The Mega Charizard X ex SAR (メガリザードンXex, 110/080) is the Special Art Rare from Inferno X (拡張パック「インフェルノX」, M2), the Japanese set released on 26 September 2025. As of October 2026 a raw copy has a $706.04 market price on TCGplayer (26 October 2026), while the last 30 eBay sales on PriceCharting have a median of about $537. A PSA 10 sold for a median of $839 to $860 in October 2026. It is the card people graded most from this set: 64,723 PSA submissions in 13 months.
It is a Stage 2 Fire Pokemon with 360 HP and one attack, Inferno X: discard any number of Fire Energy from your Pokemon and deal 90 damage for each card discarded. Like every Mega Evolution ex, it gives up three Prize cards when Knocked Out. The illustrator is danciao, named on the official card page.
The art is the reason this print, and not the four others, carries the price. Blue flames stream from Mega Charizard X’s jaw across a night sky, with Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard lit by the fire below, as The Pokemon Company’s own preview of the English print describes it. Inferno X has four Mega Charizard X ex cards: the RR RR 013/080 (¥420 at Yuyu-tei), the SR SR 094/080 ($22.38 on TCGplayer), the SAR SAR 110/080, and the gold MUR MUR 116/080 ($657.84), all prices 26 October 2026.
Two things pushed it ahead of every other MEGA-era SAR. It is Charizard, on the set The Pokemon Company built around him (the official set page’s headline is “Mega Charizard X ex appears”). And it grades well: PSA data republished by PokeInvest on 19 October 2026 shows 64,723 copies graded with 56,188 PSA 10s, an 86.8% gem rate. That is the largest population in Inferno X by a wide margin; the gold MUR has 13,744.
Prices move daily, so every row carries its source and date. Yen are converted at ¥157 to the dollar (25 October 2026).
| Copy | Price | Source | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Raw, near mint | $706.04 | TCGplayer market price (lowest listing $549.97, 24 sellers) | 26 Oct 2026 |
| Raw, near mint | $537 | PriceCharting, median of the last 30 eBay sales | 6 Sep to 17 Oct 2026 |
| Raw, near mint | $533.07 | PokeInvest, median of 85 eBay sales | 26 Oct 2026 |
| PSA 9 | $616.06 | PokeInvest, median of 43 sales | 26 Oct 2026 |
| PSA 10 | $839 | PriceCharting, median of the last 30 PSA 10 sales ($686 to $1,685) | 16 to 25 Oct 2026 |
| PSA 10 | $860 | PokeInvest, median of 122 sales | 26 Oct 2026 |
| Raw, condition A-, Japan | ¥89,800 (about $572) | Cardrush asking price, 76 in stock; Yuyu-tei asks the same, sold out | 26 Oct 2026 |
| Raw, Japan, lowest ask | ¥60,000 (about $382) | SNKRDUNK lowest ask, as quoted by Samurai Sword Tokyo | 5 Oct 2026 |
The $170 gap between TCGplayer and eBay is normal for a card this liquid. TCGplayer’s market price tracks sales on its own marketplace, where no seller was listing below $549.97 on 26 October 2026. PriceCharting and PokeInvest read completed eBay listings, where competition between sellers runs the median down to the mid-$500s. If you are buying, the eBay median is closer to what a patient buyer pays; if you are selling, TCGplayer shows what buyers there have accepted.
Grading adds less than you might expect. With 86.8% of submissions coming back as 10s, a PSA 10 is the normal outcome, so the slab sells for about $130 to $330 more than a raw copy and a PSA 9 ($616) sits only a little above raw. The math changes for the English print, covered next, and for the gold MUR, covered in the set section. How Japanese cards grade in general, and what PSA charges, is in grading Japanese Pokemon cards.
The two Japanese rows are asking prices, not sales: Cardrush’s ¥89,800 is for its A- condition stock, and the SNKRDUNK ¥60,000 is the lowest ask on a peer-to-peer app on 5 October 2026, as quoted by Samurai Sword Tokyo.
The English print is Mega Charizard X ex 125/094, a Special Illustration Rare in Mega Evolution: Phantasmal Flames, released worldwide on 14 November 2025, seven weeks after Inferno X. Same artwork, same illustrator (danciao, per pokemon.com’s card page), English text and the blue English card back. Phantasmal Flames has 130 cards and combines Inferno X with the two MEGA Starter Sets (Bulbapedia).

Raw, the two prints are within about $100 of each other, and which one is “cheaper” depends on the marketplace you read: TCGplayer has the Japanese card higher, eBay has the English card higher. This is unusual. For most modern chase cards the Japanese print sells for a third to a half of the English one, as the examples in Japanese vs English Pokemon cards show. Charizard demand in both languages has closed that gap here.
Graded, the English PSA 10 costs about $640 more. The reason is in the last row: only 59.7% of English submissions gem, against 86.8% of Japanese ones, so an English 10 is scarcer relative to the raw supply and carries a premium. If you want the artwork in a slab, the Japanese card is the cheaper route to a 10. If you want the English 10 specifically, buying one already graded avoids the four-in-ten chance of a 9.
Fakes of this exact card are documented. A collector on Elite Fourum posted a breakdown on 3 March 2026 of a fake bought second-hand on Vinted and traced to an AliExpress listing. Legit App, an authentication service, published its own real-versus-fake comparison on 16 March 2026. Between them, these are the checks that caught the known fake:
The last point matters more than the others. Most fake-spotting advice tells you to check the back and the card stock, and the Japanese guide site Altema (updated 26 June 2026) warns that sticker-style fakes and “裏面偽装” (a copied front stacked on a real back) defeat exactly those checks. Altema’s general tells still apply to cruder fakes: a surface that feels smooth and slippery, thinner paper, relief texture that is missing or runs in the wrong direction, and a back whose yellow border prints brighter and paler than the real, slightly darker yellow. The general method for any Japanese card is in how to tell if Japanese Pokemon cards are fake.
Price is the easiest first filter: on 26 October 2026 no TCGplayer seller listed a raw copy below $549.97. A raw copy offered at $200 on a resale app is not a bargain.
In the US the card is easy to find. TCGplayer had 24 sellers and 30 listings on 26 October 2026, and PriceCharting logged 30 raw eBay sales in the six weeks to 17 October.
From Japan, Cardrush had 76 copies at ¥89,800 (about $572) on 26 October 2026, Yuyu-tei was sold out at the same price, and the SNKRDUNK lowest ask was ¥60,000 (about $382) on 5 October. Japanese shops grade condition themselves (Cardrush’s A- is its near-mint tier), and the same card sat at ¥42,800 in its B condition, so read the condition code before comparing prices. How each shop, proxy and marketplace works, with fees, is in where to buy Japanese Pokemon cards and how to buy Pokemon cards from Japan.
Delivery to the US adds a duty of 12.5% of the declared value. Trading cards are classified under HTS 9504.40.0000 with a “Free” general rate (CBP ruling N359352, 16 March 2026), and the Section 301 action in force since 24 July 2026 sets the combined rate for products of Japan at 12.5%. On a ¥89,800 card that is about $72, before shipping, insurance and any proxy fee. The full working, carrier by carrier, is in shipping from Japan to the US: tariffs, and proxy fees are compared in Buyee vs ZenMarket. Readers elsewhere pay their own country’s import rules instead; the Japanese prices above are the same for everyone.
We don’t sell anything yet. When that changes, our own listings will be labeled as ours, and the prices on this page will still come from the sources named.
Inferno X is the Japanese MEGA-series expansion pack (ポケモンカードゲーム MEGA 拡張パック「インフェルノX」, set code M2) released on 26 September 2025 at ¥180 (about $1.15) for a five-card pack, per the official set page. The official card database lists 116 cards: 80 numbered cards plus 36 above the set number, which Samurai Sword Tokyo tallies as 12 AR, 17 SR (093 to 109), 6 SAR (110 to 115) and 1 MUR (116). The Pokemon Company publishes no pull rates, and we don’t repeat the per-box odds that circulate online.
| Card | Rarity | Raw price | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mega Charizard X ex 116/080 | MUR | $657.84 (TCGplayer, 26 Oct 2026) | Gold card by takuyoa. Only 36.5% gem (5,023 PSA 10s of 13,744), so its PSA 10 is the set’s most valuable at about $2,288 (PokeInvest) |
| Oricorio ex 111/080 | SAR | $26.13 (TCGplayer, 26 Oct 2026) | Art by Shinji Kanda. Its ability Excite Turbo attaches Fire Energy from hand, the official set page’s suggested way to fuel Inferno X |
| Dawn 115/080 | SAR | $21.36 (TCGplayer, 26 Oct 2026) | Supporter by Atsushi Furusawa; the set’s only Trainer SAR |
| Mega Charizard X ex 094/080 | SR | $22.38 (TCGplayer, 26 Oct 2026) | The budget Charizard: 86.3% gem rate on 26,181 graded |
Two things stand out. First, the SAR outsells the gold MUR raw ($706 against $658 on 26 October 2026), so the top rarity code is not automatically the top price; the MUR’s value lives in its PSA 10. Second, the rest of the set is cheap: the other SARs are $7 to $26, and no other SR tops $5.05. The codes are explained in Japanese Pokemon card rarity symbols, and the English set each Japanese set became is tabled in Japanese Pokemon sets and their English equivalents.
Phantasmal Flames, the English version, took the Inferno X cards and added the two MEGA Starter Sets to reach 130 cards. The gold Charizard became Mega Hyper Rare 130/094 ($194.13 on TCGplayer, 26 October 2026) with a 9.9% gem rate, the hardest PSA 10 in either language.

As of 26 October 2026, TCGplayer's market price for a raw Japanese copy is $706.04, while the median of the last 30 eBay sales on PriceCharting is about $537. A PSA 10 sold for a median of $839 to $860 in October 2026.
Raw, the two are close: $706 Japanese against $597 English on TCGplayer on 26 October 2026, and about $537 against $650 by eBay sold median. Graded, the English PSA 10 ($1,500) is roughly $650 more than the Japanese PSA 10 ($860), because only 59.7% of English copies gem against 86.8% of Japanese ones.
110/080, set code M2, rarity SAR, from Inferno X, released 26 September 2025. The gold MUR print is 116/080, the SR is 094/080 and the RR is 013/080.
Tilt it: the flames shift on a real card and stay static on the known fake. Check that the texture runs over the collector number and copyright line, that the eyes carry a reflective film, and shine a flashlight through the back: the fake is a sticker over a common card.
The 30 most recent PSA 10 sales on PriceCharting (16 to 25 October 2026) have a median of $839 and range from $686 to $1,685; PokeInvest's median over 122 sales is $860. With 86.8% of graded copies coming back as 10s, the slab adds about $130 to $330 over a raw copy.
